The book “Unternehmens-sanierung” by Michael Thierhoff / Renate Müller, the third edition of which was published at the end of 2021, is a reference work for German law professionals working on insolvency and distressed company issues. It provides an update on the new restructuring law (StaRUG – The New Regime for Preventive Restructuring in Germany) which came into force on 1 January 2021 and has a significant impact on banking, restructuring and insolvency practice.

The handbook conveys the proven multidisciplinary approach of law, economics and taxation with its interactions. Corporate restructuring is presented in detail with a focus on insolvency defence options, but also on insolvency code options. The authors explain the preparation, evaluation and implementation of reorganisation concepts, especially in terms of balance sheet, finance and organisation. Cross-cutting issues such as labour law, employment companies, taxes, group problems and cross-border cases are dealt with in special chapters.

The book describes in comparative law the preventive procedures in France and Spain.
